Tamale Factory in Augusta

Just fabulous. Thanks to George Eldridge for the Tamale Factory. The steaks were perfect, loved the salad and service was tops. Perfect evenings. Can’t wait to come back.

Great tamales and humongous steaks!

The Tamale Factory is such a unique experience. More than just a place to eat. I guess because of where it is, you just don't expect to have such a great meal and good service in the middle of the Grand Prairie. Perfectly cooked t-bone and those great tamales. And I even ran into a friend I haven't seen in years while I was there. I'll be back.

It was okay but nothing with a wow factor. Long drive out in the middle of nowhere.

Best Steak Ever Hands Down... Great Service

Love Tamale Factory! We got there later so the porterhouse was gone. We instead ordered the t-bone and it was awesome.

This is one of the best steak restaurants in the state. Its off the beaten path, but more than worth the trip. Be careful google will get you to the right highway, but misses the mark. We eat there often and are always happy.

I went here a while back with my husband to eat because we heard that the tamales here were the best but they weren't. I was actually really disappointed when I was eating them because it tasted like the tamales you can buy in a can at Wal-Mart. I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico so I'm used to eating REAL tamales but I won't be going back to this place again because that price for something that tastes like it was bought from a store is not worth it. I'll stick to homemade REAL tamales.

Good filet but expensive. Fries were soggie and greasy. Tamales and chili is good. Takes a while to drive there no matter where u r coming from.

I've been wanting to visit the Tamale Factory since it opened and finally got the opportunity. I was in no way disappointed either. The Delta-style tamales and chili were extraordinarily delicious, and the steak, salad and fries would be hard to beat. Top it off with impeccable service from the owner and his staff and you've got an A1 destination for a special dinner with family or friends.

I have been to the tamale factory twice within the last three weeks and both times could not get seated within 30 minutes. The first time I just showed up and did not expect to be seated very fast, but decided to leave after standing by a packed door for 45 minutes. Then this last time I called ahead early today and made reservations for two at 7 o’clock, and stood again by a packed door for 30 minutes. I did not show up late, I actually showed up 7 minutes early and was still yet to be seated within 30 minutes, even with a reservation. Not knocking the food but the service is horrible and very unorganized.

First visit and had high expectations based on reviews, so was very disappointed. “Marinated” salad was a greasy mess of iceberg lettuce. SIL said his fillet was “perfect” but $36 for an 8-ounce fillet? The salmon was good. My 2-lb T-bone was unevenly cooked, no real flavor, and half of it was bone and fat. Fries were good, but mine were greasy since my steak came out 10 mins after the rest of our food. Waitress didn’t bring the tamales we ordered, and only refilled our drinks once - the others servers seemed great, so I guess we just drew the short straw. On the bright side, the tamales (which I re-ordered) were excellent with the chili. In summary, neat place, poor service (ours at least), uneven food, no healthy options, way over-priced for what you get.

We’ve heard good things about this place but my experience was anything but that. I’m a person that likes my steaks cooked all the way- not burnt but I do not like any pink. I asked for extra well done just because most places still leave a little pink even when that’s asked off the bat and she brought my steak still raw on the inside and when I was going to tell her when she come back to the table she said oh it’s still raw. She brought it back about 10 minutes later charred. Now I’ll eat a steak if it’s burnt on the outside but this was absolutely disgusting. We had a party of 5 and just to be nice we did leave a $20 tip (our bill was only $45) and the other two people we were with left $15. Worst service ever. The only thing good I ate was the fries. Will not be eating here again. 👎🏼
